  It goes without saying our entire building process is designed to be easy and enjoyable. Our knowledgeable and caring team will be with you every step of the way, so that you always feel confident and informed about what’s to come. When you choose Cothran Homes to build your new living space, we don’t take the opportunity for granted — we’re grateful for your trust in our team, and we stop at nothing to guarantee a smooth road to move-in day.   Design Selection: You will have a private appointment in our studio to review all the design enhancements available to customize your home. Our designer will help guide you to your dream finishes and explain the details of all the choices available.   A Proper Foundation: The first stage of construction is prepping the homesite and getting it ready to build. Once the site is ready and permits are back, it’s time to get the foundation in.   Framing: Framing takes 10 to 20 days depending on the size and complexity of your home. For safety, it’s important to stay off the construction site and out of the home at this phase.   Rough-Ins: Once framing is complete, we’ll do a framing checklist and make sure your home is ready for plumbing, HVAC, and electrical rough-ins. Essentially, everything that’s behind the walls. When the rough-ins are complete, your home will be inspected once more before insulation and drywall are installed.   Carpentry: After hanging and sanding of the drywall is finished, your cabinets will be set. The trim carpenter will set all doors and trim your home to specifications.   Painting: Your house will really start to look like a home now, so we’ll get some paint on the walls! Around this time, we like to get the driveway poured as well.   Plumbing & HVAC: The plumber, HVAC, and electrical contractors will return to finish up their installations. Plumbing, HVAC equipment, appliances, switches, and outlets will be installed, and lights will be hung.   Flooring: Some flooring will need to be installed before now, and some will need to be installed after, depending on your selections.   Quality Inspection List: Your home will be close to completion! We’ll go through and make our quality control list to get it ready for move-in.   Orientation: Once we get your home complete, we’ll conduct our Homeowner Orientation. We’ll walk you through your home and review all systems with you, and go through any items that you would like addressed.   TIME TO MOVE IN: Your home is now ready to be closed and for you to move in!
