Greenville Nightlife: What’s Your Pleasure?

August 3, 2018

You expect a city as large as Greenville, South Carolina, to offer plenty of diversions any time of year, day or night. And you won’t be disappointed. Greenville has grown fast—really fast—and has attracted all sorts of entrepreneurs to bring their creative ventures to the city. If you’re wondering about the Greenville nightlife, we ask, “What’s your pleasure?” The Cothran Homes team has these suggestions for experiencing Greenville after dark. Within a 10-block radius of Downtown Greenville, take your pick of more than 200 shops and restaurants. Twice a year (January and August), Greenville Restaurant Week celebrates dining out with special lunch and dinner offers at participating restaurants. This week-long event actually lasts 11 days (August 9-19, 2018) so you can get your fill of this culinary extravaganza. From fondue and tapas to Southern specialties, seafood, and ethnic cuisine, take this opportunity to taste something different every night. If you haven’t been to a comedy club, start now. Laughter has healing power. When you couple that with food and drink, it’s a remedy for whatever ails you. Alchemy Comedy Theater presents fast-paced improv, sketch comedy and the occasional stand-up, seven nights a week. The Greenville Comedy Zone is part of a worldwide network of comedy clubs, so you can expect to enjoy top-tier talent here. For live performances, check out the schedule at the Warehouse Theatre, with performances of everything from “Macbeth” to “Rocky Horror Picture Show”. The Peace Center for the Performing Arts presents world-class music, dance, and theater. The award-winning Broadway musical, “Hamilton” is coming to the Peace Center this December. Smiley’s Acoustic Cafe is billed as “Greenville’s Best-Kept Secret for Food & Music”, but the secret is out. Come here to enjoy local talent, karaoke, open mic and mouthwatering food, like brie with caramel rum sauce, pesto pizza points, and Smiley’s original heady veggie burrito. Fans of craft brews flock to Swamp Rabbit Brewery & Taproom, created by a master brewer with more than 30 years of experience. The Community Tap sits just beyond the Downtown Greenville area and serves craft beer and curated wine. There are many more breweries and brewpubs in Greenville, so you might want to hop on the Greenville Brewery Tour to find your preferred place. How do you like to spend your free time? If you’d prefer not to use it taking care of your home, maybe a townhome is the right choice. A family-owned builder, Cothran Homes builds townhome communities with maintenance included in the Greenville suburbs of Simpsonville, Mauldin, Taylors, and Greer. Live close enough easily get in and out of the city, and come home to a low-maintenance lifestyle in one of our beautifully appointed 3-bedroom townhomes.
